Commissioning a wedding cake top

From my studio in rural Norfolk, I work mainly in beautiful raw silk and mixed media to create sculptures of accentuated form.

Commissioned wedding cake tops are unique to the bride and groom, a miniature version of the couple wearing the design and colour of the gown and suit. Finally brought to life in three-dimensional form with a sense of expressive movement and delicacy taken from initial drawings, the pieces have minute detail. The sculpture can be of bride and/or groom, and bridesmaids or pets can be added for example.

The couple will have an everlasting memento of the day personal to themselves. After the wedding has finished and the cake has been cut, the figures are presented in a beautiful glass case, which is displayed as a piece of art.

Customers are asked to provide details of attire and pose, using a simple form as a guide. Photographs, designer drawings and magazine cuttings are required for reference. These pieces take approximately four weeks to complete, so please consider this when commissioning.
